who I’d like to see at soundset 2012
soundset 2011 was pretty awesome, but there is one adjustment I would have made to suit my preferences more adequately: I wouldn’t have had mac miller perform. not because I don’t like his music, because I do, but because it contrasts with the content of the other artists a lot. that seems odd to say, but mac’s lyrics consist of weed references, soundclips of mac smoking weed, other things relating to weed, and his lyrics just seems so baby mode in comparison to those of the other artists at soundset.
this year, there are a couple artists that I’d love to see perform. seeing these artists perform live would make my life.
- blue scholars - geologic’s flow is insane, and I’d say it’s safe to say that it could be compared to the flow of the amazon river.
- logic - again, crazy flow. diverse rhyming patterns, and he’s been 24/7 beast mode since he’s appeared on the scene.
- action bronson - yup.
- mac lethal - I know mac wouldn’t perform at soundset because of the whole rhymesayers/black clover battle for mac, but a brother can dream, right?
- kendrick lamar - this dude….not even gonna make an attempt to describe why I want to see him perform. fuck. yes.
- common - every year there’s some kind of hip-hop legend that performs. for example, 2010 was red man/method man, 2011 was big boi (of outkast) and the members of slaughterhouse, why not common for 2012? he made a comeback in a way this year by putting out a couple bangers that got a lot of popularity.
those are just a couple adjustments, but if I think of any more of them I’ll make sure to add them here.
